Introduction to TigerBox Enclosures
The TigerBox Enclosure designs are a brand by Nemaco Technology, LLC.   Nemaco has developed it's own style of unique and interesting enclosure designs and including some common industrial enclosure shapes that are used in manufacturing factories and chemical plants. 

  For the industrial enclosures we have taken some common enclosure shapes and then added more structual supports and more welds to strengthen the enclosures.    Nemaco has no interested following other companies poor designs that might have cheap spot welding and very thin sheet walls.    In particular, most of the TigerBox carbon steel enclosures are completely cleaned (sometimes sanded) and then coated with phospate coating for corrosion protection prior to powder coating and/or painting.    By adding the phospate coatings to the enclosures ensures that  the carbon steel enclosures will be much more resistance and form of comtamination or rusting.  Since there is additional protection before powder coating and/or painting, then the metal surface is not contaminated and therefore the coatings should adhere much better.    By having the coatings stick better then they should are not likely to peel-off.   And the phospate coating will prevent rust from migrating across the carbon steel metal surface   Again the phosphate coatings greatly reduce rust from migrating and does guarantee a much better quality finish coating on the enclosure and it will prevent the coating from peeling off the enclosure. The Nemaco "TigerBox" carbon steel enclosures always rust preventative coatings in order provide our customers with better enclosure products.

For "TigerBox" stainless steel enclosure designs, Nemaco uses pickling and passivation for rust prevention on most of the stainless enclosures.   Note that not all of our customers request pickling and passivation but we recommend the chemical process to restore the stainless surface back to it original chemical condition prior to welding and other forms of metal fabrication.    Most people don't know that stainless steel chrome molecules are destroyed by welding the stainless steel and stainless steel will rust.    But, in order to restore the stainless steel enclosures and metal parts, our company Nemaco will have most stainless steel enclosures and parts pickled and passivated to ensure better quality.

Introduction to Processes

NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3R TIGERBOX ENCLOSURES
The NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3R Tigerbox Enclosures are available in carbon steel and EG (electrogalvanized) carbon steel. Special aluminum and 304/316 stainless steel materials are available as an option. The carbon steel and EG enclosures are always cleaned, degreased and then phosphate rinsed to prevent rust corrosion before electrostatic powder coating and/or wet painted. Only "top quality" powder coating and wet paint materials are used. Most of the Tigerbox enclosure coatings are UL listed. Just top quality and tough stuff NEMA boxes.  Sorry, we do "not" use cheap quality materials.

Depending upon the NEMA enclosure style, NEMA listing (if applicable), application and/or any special requirments by a customer, then the enclosures may be fastened by screws, pop-rivets, bolts and/or welded construction. Most of the time, the exterior mtg brackets (if applicable) are welded to enclosure for additional strength.

UL listed gaskets are installed on some Tigerbox 3R Style NEMA Enclosures as an option.

NEMA 4 TIGERBOX ENCLOSURES
The NEMA 4 Tigerbox Enclosures are made from carbon steel (or EG), welded (including stitch and/or plug welding for additional strength) and then cleaned, degreased. All the enclosures are phosphate rinsed to prevent rust corrosion before powder coating. Then the powder coatings are applied by electrostatic spray. Customers may choose from many Super Tiger Colors. And ... also wet paint coatings and many textures are available.

NEMA 4X TIGERBOX ENCLOSURES (304/316 Stainless Steel)
The NEMA 4X Tigerbox StainlessEnclosures are made from 304/316 stainless steel depending on the customers requirements. The enclosure seams are continuously welded. The enclosure mounting brackets and "tiger lifting eyes" (if applicable) are stitch and/or plug welded for additional strength. Then the enclosures are cleaned and degreased. Surface finish options include: our super nice grain finish; and our lower cost 2B (no finish) and/or nice orbital finish. Most of the enclosures are pickled and passivated for rust prevention. Passivation: Nitric acid and/or phosphoric acid electrolysis to reduce residual corrosion and repair the stainless steel surface corrosion resistance on welded sections (corners, edges and mtg brackets). Many of our NEMA enclosures we use UL listed gaskets and they gaskets are installed per UL requirements.   These enclosures "may not" be considered UL listed.  But the most of the NEMA enclosures have "off the shelf" or UL listed gaskets. 

Powder coating is available as an option for NEMA 4X (304 & 316) stainless steel enclosures.

NEMA 4X TIGERBOX ENCLOSURES (Aluminum)
The NEMA 4X Tigerbox Aluminum Enclosure seams are continuously welded. The enclosure mounting brackets and "Tiger Lifting Eyes" (if applicable) are stitch and/or plug welded for additional strength). Then the enclosures are cleaned and degreased. Surface finish options include: our super nice grain finish; lower cost 2B (no finish) and our nice orbital finish. These NEMA aluminun enclosures "may not" be considered UL listed.  But the most of the NEMA enclosures have "off the shelf" or UL listed gaskets. 

Powder coating, Alodine and Anodized colors are available as an option for Type 4X (6160) aluminum enclosures.

 NEMACO TR19 TIGER RACK MOUNT ENCLOSURES (19 Inch Rack Mount EIA Enclosures)
The TR19 Tiger Racks (19" Rack Mount EIA Enclosures) are made from power coated coated steel rack rails and also 304 Stainless Steel. Custom Tiger 19" Rack Mount EIA Enclosures are available on special request. Ask Nemaco for the details.

NEMA 1 ENCLOSURE
Type 1 enclosures are intended for indoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against contact with the enclosed equipment where unusual service conditions do not exist.

NEMA 3 ENCLOSURE
Type 3 enclosures are intended for outdoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against windblown dust, rain and sleet, and to be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure. They shall meet rain, external icing, dust and rust-resistance design tests. They are not intended to provide protection against conditions such as internal condensation or internal icing. 

NEMA 3 & 3R ENCLOSURE
Type 3R enclosures are intended for outdoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against falling rain, and to be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure. They shall meet rain entry, external icing, and rust-resistance design tests. They are not intended to provide protection against conditions such as dust, internal condensation or internal icing. 

NEMA 4 & 4X ENCLOSURE
Type 4X enclosures are intended for indoor and outdoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against corrosion, windblown dust and rain, splashing water and hose-directed water, and to be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure. They shall meet hose down, external icing, and corrosion-resistance design tests. They are not intended to provide protection against conditions such as internal condensation or internal icing. 

NEMA 6 ENCLOSURE
Type 6 enclosures are intended for indoor or outdoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against the entry of water during temporary submersion at a limited depth; and to be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure. They shall meet submersions, external icing, and rust-resistance design tests. They are not intended to provide protection against conditions such as internal condensation, internal icing, or corrosive environments 

NEMA 6P ENCLOSURE
Type 6P enclosures are intended for indoor or outdoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against the entry of water during prolonged submersion at a limited depth; and to be undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure. They shall meet submersions, external icing, and rust-resistance design tests. They are not intended to provide protection against conditions such as internal condensation, internal icing, or corrosive environments 

NEMA 12 ENCLOSURE

Type 12 enclosures are intended for indoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against dust, falling dirt and dripping non-corrosive liquids.
